My Completed Mannequin

I know, it took me a while to post pictures of my completed mannequin from Arley Berryhill's costuming workshop. I started out with a very colorful inspiration fabric, but with the plight of our planet in mind as of late,I decided to go green and serene. Taking this workshop was fun for me because the best part of doll making for me is the costuming. Mannequins are a great way to practice. I keep seeing the base as a really funky table lamp. Right?

Arley Berryhill comes to town

This January, our club president Tery, invited Arley Berryhill to come to New Jersey and teach a two day class on costuming. We showed up to class with our mannequins and were eager to begin. Our club members, and invited guests, had the opportunity to learn from a very talented doll artist, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, thanks to the generosity of our sweet club member, Anne Marie. After our class came to a close, on Sunday, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner, had show and tell, and our clubs holiday gift exchange. I can't put into words, the surge of energy that went through the room when we handed each other our hand made gifts. Colleen made me a beautiful fairy she named Eva. A great time was had by all.
